Hp Officejet Pro 8138e: The 5 Best Options, Ranked by Real Buyer Feedback

This model earned its ranking primarily because of its reliable dual-band Wi-Fi connection, which avoids the dropout frustration that plagues older office hardware. I would rank this first for basic tasks because it handles everyday printing without demanding an engineering degree to set up.

You get solid color output alongside a 225-sheet input tray, making it a workhorse for standard household admin. My view is that the absence of a built-in fax function keeps the footprint compact, though heavy administrative offices will certainly miss that legacy feature.

This machine is best suited for freelancers and remote workers who want simple setups and minimal configuration headaches. The integration of HP AI helps format web pages cleanly, meaning you rarely waste paper on awkward print margins.

I find the inclusion of the HP app to be a massive asset for scanning documents directly to a smartphone. You do have to keep an eye on subscription terms after the initial ink trial ends, because ongoing supply costs will sneak up on you.

An unexpected feature that immediately caught my attention is the generous one-year Instant Ink promotion bundled into this specific retail package. Beyond that standout perk, the hardware delivers identical core performance to its sibling models with reliable document handling.

I think this specific bundle offers exceptional long-term value for anyone who prints heavily during their first year of operation. You should remember that once that extended promotional window closes, the monthly subscription fees kick in automatically unless cancelled.

The most common buyer complaint regarding this machine centers on the occasionally sluggish color photo printing speeds. Once you look past that minor limitation, you discover a fully featured home office machine complete with a physical fax option.

I consider this my top overall pick because it balances high-volume capability with an intuitive 2.7-inch touchscreen interface. My advice is to weigh your actual need for physical faxing against the slightly higher cost before making a final commitment.

Stepping up from the standard home models, this heavy-duty option dwarfs the OfficeJet Pro 8135 in raw paper capacity by offering dual trays. I would point heavy workloads toward this unit because it ramps up speeds to an impressive 25 ppm black, leaving smaller printers in the dust.

The inclusion of a larger 4.3-inch touchscreen also transforms the user experience for frantic offices running multiple daily tasks. You will pay a steeper price upfront for this power upgrade, and the physical footprint requires serious desktop real estate.
