The single feature that actually separates good sunshades from bad ones is custom framing. I have compared the options and read through extensive buyer feedback to separate the weak contenders from the reliable protectors. In my view, getting a proper fit around your mirror camera matters more than anything else. Let us see how these two stack up in a straightforward, ranked comparison.

1. Pigenius Windshield Shade for Mazda CX-5 2017-2025, Custom Front Window Sunshade – AstraGuard
This shade earned its top ranking because of its precision engineering. It fits the 2017 to 2025 CX-5 windshield like a glove.
I would rank this first because it blocks out light completely around the rearview mirror camera. The triple laminate construction gives it a sturdy feel that cheap universal shades simply lack.
Buyers consistently point out that the silver surface reflects intense heat effectively.
The accordion folding design receives praise for making daily storage straightforward.
Users appreciate the included storage bag for keeping the cabin tidy.

2. Pigenius Windshield Sunshade for Mazda CX-5 2017-2025 Front Window Sun Shade – Safeguard
This option is best for the everyday commuter who prioritizes basic interior protection without fuss. It shares the same solid dimensions as the top pick but comes in a different finish.
I think the gray exterior offers a slightly more subtle look from the outside. But buyers should remember that lighter tones sometimes absorb marginally more heat than polished silver.
Owners note that the material guards dashboards against harsh UV rays.
The camera cutout fits factory rearview setups cleanly.
Reviewers mention that folding the shade requires a bit of practice at first.

Choosing Between Them
My top recommendation is the Pigenius AstraGuard, which I would point most drivers toward for its superior heat reflection. If you want exact fit precision for your Mazda, that silver-surface model remains the smartest choice. Drivers who prefer a more understated exterior aesthetic will find that the Pigenius Safeguard serves everyday commuting needs quite well.
Shoppers should note that both folding sunshades demand careful handling during storage. Treating the accordion creases gently prevents permanent warping over months of daily use.
